What we do for students

From fully stocked backpacks to feminine hygiene care and holistic community support, our programs meet students where the need is greatest.

What We Do

Programs Built for Real Impact

Resource Drive

Annual Backpack Drive

Each year, CCL-KIDS organizes backpack drives to remove the financial burden of school supplies from families in need. Students receive fully stocked backpacks with everything they need to show up prepared and confident.

  • Fully stocked school supplies included
  • Distributed to underfunded districts
  • Partnership with McKeesport Area School District

In Development

Youth Leadership Program

Our Youth Leadership Program is currently in development. A pilot program has already been launched, and implementation is progressing gradually as we build a curriculum that teaches students about leadership, values, and the ideas they can carry forward in their own communities.

  • Pilot program already launched
  • Rolling out gradually and thoughtfully
  • Leadership, values, and civic ideas
Health and Dignity

Feminine Hygiene Support

Hygiene and feminine care resource drives for teen girls at crisis resolution shelters and homeless shelters in the Pittsburgh area, addressing a basic need that too often goes unmet for vulnerable young women.

  • Hygiene kits for teen girls at shelters
  • Volunteer-driven collection drives
  • Partnered with local women's shelters

Community Support

Holistic Support & Community Engagement

We are committed to supporting students in every aspect of their well-being. Through community outreach and education, CCL-KIDS works to raise awareness and bring attention to topics that are often overlooked or considered taboo, ensuring that every child feels supported, valued, and equipped to succeed.

  • Whole-child, holistic support
  • Community outreach and education
  • Raising awareness on overlooked needs
Community Service

Service Trips and Outreach

From serving as a tour guide and peer mentor for special needs and terminally ill students visiting Disney parks (Give Kids the World, 2024), to leading Junior Achievement BizTown lessons and coordinating community holiday drives, CCL-KIDS shows up beyond the classroom.

  • Give Kids the World Service Trip (2024)
  • JA BizTown Curriculum Leader (2024)
  • Thanksgiving Pie Drive and holiday gift campaigns
Looking Ahead

Where we're headed next

CCL-KIDS is committed to expanding our mission wherever communities express a need. Here is what we are building toward.

Leadership

Leadership in the Classroom

A classroom leadership program, inspired by models like Denison Edge, teaching students about nonprofits and giving them ideas they can carry forward and keep building on.

Growth

Year-Round Community Support

Growing toward supporting an entire community with school supplies and feminine hygiene products every year, so the help is dependable rather than one-time.

Expansion

Expanding into Ohio

Extending our network beyond the greater Pittsburgh region and into the Ohio area, reaching more students who need essential resources.
